The Royal Grand Palace is one of the most important landmarks of Bangkok, which tourists should not miss. It is famous for its magnificent architectural buildings, which represent the Ratanakosin Period of the Thai Arts .

The Royal Temple, Wat Pra Kaew is situated within the same compound, where tourists will find the Emerald Buddha (Pra Kaew Morakot), which is carved from jade, and is regarded as the most sacred Buddha image by the Thai people.

Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho), at the South of the Grand Palace, is in the first class category of royal temples. In Wat Pho, tourists can pay respect to the most well-known Reclining Buddha in Thailand. The Reclining Buddha is 46 metres in length, which makes it the longest Reclining Buddha in Bangkok, and the second longest in Thailand. Wat Pho is famous for its original Thai massage and lessons in this ancient art.

Wat Trimitr, was built around 150 years ago, by three Chinese comrades. It was restored in 1937, and granted the name, Wat Trimitr Witthayaram. It is famous for the Golden Buddha image, the Sukhothai style in subduring mara position, which is made of solid gold, and is three metres tall, and weighs 5 tons.

Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple), was built in 1899, by royal command of King Rama 4. It was designed by Prince Narisaranuvadtivongs, using Italian white Carana marble, so it is also called the Marble Temple by tourists. The principal Buddha image was modeled from Phra Buddha Chinarat, at Pitsanulok province.
