Day 1 : Chiangmai-Mae Saa Valley-Hmong Hilltribe Tour Itinerary : Pick up from hotel, airport, railway station or bus terminal in Chiangmai. Depart to visit the hilltribe museum and local market in Mae Malai, then continue to Ban Mae Taman of Mae Tang to ride an elephant for an hour, followed by a ride on an ox-cart. After a picnic lunch, embark on a raft for an adventurous journey down the Mae Tang River for an hour, and travel to a small village situated 850 metres above sea level. Check in to the Hmong Hilltribe Lodge for barbecue dinner with a cultural presentation and overnight stay. Day 2: Hmong Hilltribe - Royal Project Tour Itinerary : After breakfast, drive to the small village of Ban Teen Doi where you can take a short stroll to Ban Mae Pa. Take a mountain bike to Ban Palan. Visit the small village reservoir and continue on to Ban Pong Kwaw where there is an old temple with beautiful wall paintings. After a picnic lunch, proceed to Ban Nong Hoi Kao, to observe the Royal Project, where the hill people are taught to grow vegetables and flowers.
